Over the past few years we have noticed that many of our customers would appreciate the ability to do Christmas preorders at the same time that they place orders with DTR companies. Historically we have always released our Christmas ranges when they become available on delivery.

We are pleased to rollout a new feature on the website whereby you can add items to a preorder. To achieve this you will have 2 shopping carts on the website. One is your normal shopping basket for items due for delivery as usual. The other is a 'preorder shopping basket' which serves as a way to add items from our preorder ranges.

You will be able to see the expected delivery date noted on the products available to preorder and when you have finished adding items to your preorder basket, you can follow the checkout link designed to handle your preorder.

We have special preorder sections that contain all of the product that is available for preorder, only items from these sections can be added to your preorder basket.

To place a preorder we will require a non-refundable 10% deposit on the total. Some items in our preorder sections are also currently in stock, we will reserve these on your behalf until your final order is picked when everything has arrived to complete your order accordingly.

Once we have picked your order after items have arrived with us, we will contact you to arrange to settle the remaining balance on your order, then despatching your order.

Preordering is a great way to reserve the best of the coming ranges before they arrive and are purchased by others.

As this is our first year operating preorders, we are happy to discuss or listen to your feedback about the process if you wish to get in touch. The obvious and main product area is Christmas but we will also be adding other ranges ahead of time so that you can order them before they arrive too!

Chris and Dan took a trip this week to The Nook, one of the EACH hospices (East Anglia's Children's Hospices), to donate a unit of cards for use by the staff and families using their services.

For the second year running, we have produced and distributed a charity unit FSDU that directly benefits EACH when sold to retailers / corporate offices. You can find out more about the project and buy a unit here.

We would like to thank all customers who have participated in the project, the hospices are an incredible resource for families who require complex support. EACH rely heavily on  private donations and fundraising to keep their hospices running.

We have taken delivery of a large amount of Christmas product ready for the coming season. Our team has been hard at work getting everything ready for our customers to benefit from.

In our first update since the new year, we are pleased to bring lots of new and refreshed product lines to our ranges. We are always mindful of keeping our selection wide and up to date, our buyers have been busy selecting the best from a blend of fantastic suppliers.

Mothers Day

First up and the next major event in the calendar is Mother's Day. We have plenty of lovely looking greeting cards from DTR and wholesale publishers offering you an excellent choice to work with. You can also find some Mothers Day gift bags, foils and similar up sellable lines.

Easter

After that it's Easter, around 3 weeks later on Sunday April 20th. We have of course got you covered with another beautiful range of cards and accessories all ideal for customers shopping over the coming weeks. Coinciding with Spring, this is a good time to bring colour to your greeting card racks.

Giftware Updates

Our giftware ranges have had a boost with lots of new lines coming in from suppliers like Widdop and Co, Lesser and Pavey and Keel.  

We have added new Gift Stationery, with lots of attractive notebooks, jotters, writing sets and more. These are popular with greeting card customers. Our mugs section has had a big increase of new lines with a variety of creative themes suitable for many retail settings.  

New lines have been added to our baby gifts section, picture frames, wooden toys and other cute gift ideas are now available.

We have also added lines to wedding gifts, photo frames, soft toys, and household giftware

Giftware represents a great way to create additional revenue and margin raising sales when you customers may already be considering similar purchases for a gift recipient.

Gift Bags

We love the new designs that have just come in from Partisan. Gift bags are a great addition to greeting card retail and are often bought at the same time. Partisan make top quality gift bags and always impress with their designs.

After a super busy Christmas season we are pleased to say that we were able to donate £3000 to East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH).

This is the first project of it's kind and it was our first year at producing a custom free standing display unit to house cards for a charity. We worked closely with Second Nature in producing the unit and we are happy say that they performed well for customers who took them. We are pleased to announce that we have decided to continue the project for another year with fresh designs for 2025.

At the start of the year, Archway Cards embarked on a project to help raise funds for EACH (East Anglia's Children's Hospices). Together with publisher Second Nature, a display unit was produced with a variety of attractive Christmas card boxed assortments in support of EACH.

You can purchase a display unit here - 50% of profits will go directly to EACH. We would like to thank our customers who supported the project so far, early indications is that they have been selling well in their retail locations.

Chris and Dan recently travelled to The Nook, one of EACH's hospices to deliver one of the Christmas display units which will be free to patients and users of the hospice to make use of if they need to. They were received by Laura at EACH, who provided an extensive tour of the hospice and great insight into the operations and needs of the services they provide.

We are really pleased to be able to support EACH and will continue to do so, we would also like to encourage customers / anyone with means to join in and help support their great efforts in supporting families with significant care / health issues.

Just 15% of their funding comes from the government, the rest is raised via corporate and public fund raising and this has become challenging in recent years. Their hospices make a huge difference to the families that have been able to use their services and we hope to continue to find ways to help them keep it up.  

With the Christmas trade beginning to head into the busiest weeks of the year, we are offering our customers an opportunity to save 10% off everything until the 1st of December 2024.
